Bought Batman Begins today so I can get upto date.
Never been a big fan of batman really but all this hype is too much to ignore.

That is the thing though, the first two with Keaton were good but not to everyones taste really and then they killed it. Batman Begins actually did very well in the box office but as said it could have done even better but they were very careful and limited with the marketing and lots thought "oh god another batman movie" and never went to see it but the amount of DVD sales show that word of mouth got the "oh yeah it is actually very good"

Whatserface playing Rachel doors  is crap in it mind, just bare through when she is on screen.

Katie Holmes, and she certainly isnt "crap", I found her quite likeable and admittedly her acting isnt up to the standards of the rest of the cast but she does a good job nonetheless.

Has any one else read Christopher Tookeys review in the Daily Mail?

Do the daily mail pay him to be such a miserable b*****d all the time?  Unless its lord of the rings, there is something wrong with it.

In this case despite the praise he gives it, its too long and too complicated.....and to dark.

It is a little bit too complicated, hes not far wrong. The plot is convoluted.

I wouldnt be seen dead watching comic book crap normally but I think I might see this one soon, it does sound. Cool.

I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

Oh my god, that was freaking epic. Went to see it last knight and it totally blew me away. If you liked Batman Begins (and why the hell wouldnt you?) you will like this even more.

The great thing about it is you forget its a "superhero" movie. Instead it is a great movie that happens to have Batman in it. The performances are all brilliant and Heath Ledger as the Joker is awe inspiring, you totally buy his character as a deranged psychopath.

The action scenes are very good, I dont remember thinking once that stuff looked like CG, the score underpins perfectly, the plot is gripping, I didnt know what way things might go as the film seemed to break Hollywood boundaries on what you can and cant do. There were some extremely wince inducing parts (one near the start had the whole audience gasp).

If I could fault one thing, Christian Bales "Batman" voice is a little too deep and gravelly, sounds a little too put on.

Overall, one of the best films Ive seen in several years and probably going to make it into my personal top ten.

I give it five woots on the Clockd-o-meter

PS Apologies for that terrible pun at the start
It's all fun and games until a 200' robot dinosaur shows up and trashes Neo-Tokyo… Again.

It wasnt directed at you, dont worry, your post was completely spoiler free. I mean Im 99.9% sure I know the story already anyway but... just in case there is some kind of a twist or something unexpected Id sooner not know about it.  :yarr:

Damn I never expected there to be a rush on for IMAX tickets, I should have thought about it a little more. I guess I wont be seeing it until August either then!

Funny thing is I checked it on Saturday and only the first few days were fully booked. I think once the reviews started to get out there was a mad rush.

Its not often people hear of a summer blockbuster that actually turns out to be one of the greatest flicks ever made. I suppose the planets do line up every now and then ;)
