I changed the title to help.

Not long back from seeing it in the IMAX in Auckland City. MY GOD, 5 Woots from me instantly I was blown away, yep it had a few endings and may have been a tad long but totally worth it, this movie is amazing for so many reasons from the style to just the endless amount of details to script and visual tit bits.

Heath Ledger was stunning, if he had not sadly died he would just be getting amazing praise in every single interview he would be doing, I was blown away by his Joker he was scary, mad, insane, Smart as hell and funny as well. To do all that and in the style he did it in and pull it off is nothing short of impressive, it just shows he had been waiting for a role to do his acting justice and it is a dam shame he has passed away as you could easily have 1,2,3 more movies with him vs batman.

Went to see it for the second time last night. I am truly sad that I will never get to see this film for the first time again.

I am expecting it to overtake The Matrix as my film-Ive-seen-most-in-the-cinema. Saw The Matrix five times when it came out, so six for Dark Knight seems like a sensible number.
It's all fun and games until a 200' robot dinosaur shows up and trashes Neo-Tokyo… Again.

Blu Ray = Win, can see it being 3 hours as well. I just am blown away, it is not perfect as nothing is but wow, people may say that it is not a patch on godfarther but they are trying to compare two different types of movies. For what this is it is the best film of its type by a long way and overall will be in most top 10 movie lists for a long while to come.
The 3rd Movie is coming and apperently two face is in it, but Nolan Has is work cut out to top this.

I have to add that Christian Bales role was a masterful performance as well. He was being overshadowed by heath Hands down in terms of heaths level of effort in his character but what he did was bring his performance in terms of the characters together on par with the Joker so they were true rivals and many may miss this but his batman was as masterful as the Joker. He plays the cocky Bruce wayne very well which as in the first movie is his mask, that is not him but something he has to do to hide his true nature but this Batman was one that was hurting emotionally and physically.
This movie was the Batman who has beaten the standard criminal and the criminal lords and now as a result of himself coming against the new kind of villan and not up to it at first but having to step up his game.
The final ending for me as well was as clever as the rest as the movie.

If I could fault one thing, Christian Bales "Batman" voice is a little too deep and gravelly, sounds a little too put on.

Tell it as it is, it sounds crap! Also Ledgers joker is too slobbery for my liking, but the character in general was very good :) and finally the bird who played batmans missus or whatever who was Katie Holmes, this new bird, MINGER seriously love tits, or gtfo.

8/10 great film, certainly not worth going to watch at the cinema again, dunno how people do that :mutley: high def release ftw :ptu:

I saw this when I was in the US last week and everyone cheered when Gordon came back and they all clapped at the end. Im sure thats just an American thing... I was a bit stunned really.

I agree with Sam though the plot is too complicated for a comic book film. I do think Heath Ledger was amazing and although it was a different style to Nickolsons it just seemed so much better. I would never have expected that from him having seen him in A Knights Tale.

I wasnt keen on Batmans character in this movie as it obviously showed weakness especially having to consult Albert about making the right decisions.

Nolan - "not a comic book film" Based on one but not made to be like one and he hates people saying that.
I think you missed the point about Batman as that was the idea... He has taken on the Crime underworld and all but dealt with it but is already battered and bruised from this and then there is now a new level of evil, not only has the bar now been raised you have his true nemesis and opposite and equal in the Joker but the tone for what is to come and Bruce is not ready for it, scared if you will of what is to come but towards the end facing this and ready to step up his game and understand what he now needs to be and in terms of the script in regard to villains and heroes that scripting is top draw,

I think its silly to say a madman is batmans true nemesis. If that is the case hes a pretty poor Batman.

But the joker is his true rival, his nemesis because that is how it is written, it is the equal but opposite situation. Sam did you not follow the movie in regard to the Joker on just how smart he was?
