Macbook pro to clunky? Sorry fair enough not going for mac but to say its to clunky considering for the same spec every PC one I looked at was heavier and thicker is a wrong statement to make Serious. One of the main reasons I got one was because it was easier to carry around.
Besides the new ones announced in just hours time will be based on the macbook air design and apparently even lighter and thinner then the current designs as a result.
As I said not being a mac fan or Eagle thinking mac not a right option is fine but to say it is wrong because its too bulky is not true.

they ARE too bulky to be easy to move around though, all 17" laptops are really just DTR machines.  including the MacBook pro.  15.4" is really too big for a really portable lappy, but decent quality 13" screens are hard to find without spending a fortune.

Damn I hate this.  Soooooo many to chose from.  Does anyone do graphics on theirs?  Would a notebook/tiny thing be a hindrance?

Expected workload:

Web: 70%
Email: 10%
Graphics: 20%

....  :panic:

I got the 17" exactly for that reason, but I use this as my main machine now after getting rid of my DT.

But Im sure that a 15" wouldnt be that bad, wouldnt go for a 14" tho!

tbh if its ~600 id be looking at the XPS M1530 - I have one as a work laptop - I have all the options (t9500 cpu, 4gb, 320gb, 1920x1200 display, blu ray etc etc) as I didnt pay for it, but the bog standard one is fairly well featured.

proper gfx card & hdmi is a nice bonus.

Edit again - they come with 320gb hd standard and 4gb ram standard.

Thanks.  Damn.  DELLs website is like a bloody candy shop. :(

Im veering towards a 14" screen now. :/  Portability is fast becoming an issue.

Might sell a watch and go mental.

nominally 1280×800 or 1280x768 for computer screens depending on supplier.

Looks good, I was gonna say if you get an expensive one make sure you get 3g onboard cos the sticks are a pain in the arse.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

My vodafone one is fine, just a little slow to get going each time I boot windows/come back from standby. Not sure if thats partly to do with the install/laptop configuration. On a laptop I had full admin rights over I reckon I could have it working a bit more seemlessly somehow.
