PCMCIA Card readers?
on: September 09, 2007, 09:35:44 AM
Has anyone ever had experience with these?

I use a USB one atm, however it is my dads and hell want it back eventually, plus I want somthing more compact.

So Im thinking a PCMCIA card reader.

What are peoples opinions of them? Seem some 6 in 1 card readers, that do the MS Pro Duo cards and MMC cards that I use... so all good there.

I mean if I went with USB then I could use it on any computer I suppose...

It depends on what cards you are going to use, if its only one kind then a specific option might be better. TBH I have never had any problem with these, except misplacing the damn things. Usually they are more expensive than usb ones too, although they are not as likely to be knocked out .

As I almost exclusively use SD cards I bought some that convert them into USB memory sticks £3.66 plus a quid insurance for three of the things off fleabay IIRC.
