Its not awful its just not the same War of the Worlds as the original, theres a guy at work who hates it cause it aint a remake of the original.  Which is a shame cause its still a good film its just telling the War of the Worlds story from a different angle.  But thats debate for another thread  ;)

Well, Ive just dumped on it from a great height in my research piece, along with slightly less scathing criticism of the 50s George Pal one and the Orson Welles radio adaptation. The Pendragon Pictures version was poorly acted and executed, so ironically by far the best adaptation is Jeff Waynes musical.

Its a good film, providing you dont think of it as a tribute and leave the words War of the Worlds well and truly out of it.Otherwise its completely carp. The special effects are superb but its trying to pull something that was designed for 1890s into the 2000s and that just doesnt work.

[edit]I still like the 1953 versions ailen ships. [/edit]

Well for some reason the place I ordered Farscape Season 1 cheap from cancelled my order cause of lack of stock due to other suppliers dropping prices.

So I ordered all 4 seasons from Choices Direct for £29.99 each instead :D
