That it is, but for some reason a lot of metal bands have a real knack for epic openings to albums. Take Cradle of Filth, Im not so much of a fan these days although I used to be when I was younger, however the opening track to "Midian" still rates as one of the best openers in my opinion, it has the feeling of something rather monumental. And then you have bands like At The Gates who never went in for the orchestral openings but produce tracks that leap in a slap you around the face and really do set the tone for the rest of the album.
