7 hours after the account servers went live and promptly messed up, and GOA still havent fixed them. Great start to the Euro open beta.

Dont have to re-register. A news item just went up on the site saying that if you already had an account, you just use that. Still cant access it though.

Server caps
Previous closed beta testers are being let in. We are successively allowing more and more players join. The current population cap is 500 players per realm (so 1000 max players online per server) with an additional 1500 players in queue. We will raise both the online and queue caps by roughly 25% every few hours. This is a delicate process, vital in keeping the servers and starting zones in good shape.

Should the need arise for additional servers, we will add more servers from our stockpile.
Our QA department is reporting that all servers and scenarios are running smooth.
Current Server cap: 1000 per server, 1500 in queue

They are less than 2 weeks from release and their server caps are that low. They say should the need arise, theyll open more servers. I think the need arose a long time ago as they have apparently given away around 200,000 beta keys.

Also, apparently there are people playing who got beta keys free from WAR fansites within the past week, whereas the people who pre-ordered the CE of the game and were guarenteed Open Beta access (like myself) are still not able to even enter our beta codes.

exactly, the CE Pre-orders got a beta headstart in the US, as well as a live headstart. You know our live headstart is going to suffer from the same sh*t.

28 hours later and the registration and authentication servers are still not available. They were supposed to be back up late morning, which GOA have now changed to early afternoon. How long until its late afternoon or early evening?

Europe should be the place that this game is the most successful, what with GW being based here. However, its looking more likely this game will bomb badly. Ive already seem posts by many, many people stating that they were cancelling orders and heading back to other MMOs and at this rate Im seriously thinking about cancelling my order too, or maybe keep the order for the books and stuff you get with it but not playing the game if this is the treatment well get.

EA, gobbled up mythic and promised GW they could do it, Mythic let themselves be sold because of the investment and the fact they would have access to EA servers for a good mmo. It is EA who are letting things down at the moment from what I read, there problem.

Its not EA running the Euro servers, its GOA, the gaming arm of France Telecom. Mythic let them run DAoC and, before being bought by EA, made a deal with them to handle the Euro version of WAR. Its GOA who have messed up, and Mark Jacobs of Mythic has defended his companies choice to go with them even after many, many people complained that GOA had messed up the Euro version of DAoC.

From what I hear, the US and Oceania betas which are run by EA are going very well.

I have gone from closed beta to open beta, so for me the change over has been easy.

The biggest problem is the website, which seems to be the worst thing constructed ever.

Tis essentially a huge lump of flash with flash modules that load from that. Which to means sounds like a terrible idea, but hey you can do showy effects, who cares if it works....

This is going to cause alot of upset with quite a few people.

Games Workshop is going to see a terrible launch in their eyes as the UK and Europe are their biggest customers and any bad press relating to them wont be good.

EA are going to be annoyed that one of their best chances of a worldwide successful MMO is going to be lost in probably the biggest MMO section of the world due to bad management that is out of their control

and Mythic who are going to have both EA and GW breathing down their necks about how badly things have gone.
