When did everything get so expensive and tacky?

I've refreshed my gaming pc with a high spec computer that was out of warranty from work, and added an RTX 2080ti to it.
I'm wanting to change the case to something a bit more interesting, but they are all so expensive now. It seems like £180 is about your starting point for something that has air flow, but you have to have tacky RGB stuff all over it like it's a fisher price toy.
All I want is a mesh case, maybe a window, and some reasonable speakers.
Lian Li's look like one of the cheaper options these days.
Even the last of the slice your hand open case manufacturers - CiT now cost £100+ They used to be £20 with a PSU, Keyboard and Mouse. All junk mind.

GameMax F15. Its a rock solid and affordable choice, it's what I'm using. You can turn the RGB sh*t off if you want too.

yep... a few tech type shows come up on my youtube feed regularly... it's all RGB... who gives a f**k about that?
there's less and less talk about performance/cooling, more and more about hot it looks :-(

Got one. And a new gamemax cooler to go with it.
Eldest can turn all the rgb sh*te on when he's playing hogwarts, I can turn it off when I'm booming.
