Ebuyer appears to be listing Pro for £80, but matches Amazon on the Home version at £45.

Amazon is out of Home Premium, but is it worth going for Pro (Mostly because of the XP compatibility mode?) Does anyone running the RC have any issues with programs not working?

Photoshop/Digsby/uTorrent/Acronis? Any issues?

Cheers

Jake

Ebuyer appear to have stopped doing the el cheapo prices too. I wouldnt have thought it possible to sell out of an unreleased dvd, given how quickly I assume they could mass produce them.

The Windows XP virtualisation thing requires having processor-based virtualization support, AMD-V or Intel VT-x. Ive read its not going to be all its cracked up to be, but I cant remember where though, sorry.

I only have the upgrade but my dell didnt come with a vista CD (even though I have the licence).

I hope it still works.

Older Windows versions used to allow you to force a full installation even using the upgrade disc, hopefully the same will still be true with 7.

Has any reason been given RE how you could upgrade from vista/xp, but not from the Win 7 RC? Id have thought of all things to upgrade from, the RC would be the least hassle etc?!

Apparently you can just buy a copy, no upgrade applies. You need to clean off your previous install anyway AFAIK.

Got a copy on order.

The issue with the UK version seems to be removing IE from the install, its simpler to do a full install than try and remove it.

There is also the issue of reinstalling a dead OS so I cant see them producing a disk that only upgrades over an installed system. Even if there is only an install over option it should be easy enough for someone to accidentally post you a copy of the Vista install disk they have been keeping as a backup instead of the blank disk they were going to send...
