Dim screen = faulty inverter or inverter and screen not really compatible.

Cant be though - Ive replaced the inverter and the screen Ive trying worked fine on the old inverter. Admittedly its not the correct screen still but I dont want to splash out £60 on a new screen unless I know its going to work. Bugger of a scenario!!

Wonder if the ribbon cable could be causing this issue? Can that cause this kind of thing? No amount of reseating or fiddling/bending makes any difference.
