Some of the drugs at this end of the spectrum are vile and not even proven to work or not introduce worse side-effects. I'm no anti-vaxxer or anything daft but Big Pharma has definitely not been held accountable enough for what they are peddling for far too long. Obviously it's worse in the States.

There is a huge list of approved drugs that have turned out to be completely ineffective, including anti-cancer drugs.

Even paracetamol has been removed from the list in many conditions including chronic back pain and other chronic pain where it just does not work. I can confirm this having polyosteoarthritis and fibromyalgia.

It's really remarkable when you are blotto near out of existence on strong opiates and you realize you can still feel the pain.
