Seems Stephen Fry thinks it is.

Completely agree.

The first thing I felt with the current series of Dr Who was that it felt much more childish than the previous series. It felt like any adult content was added as an extra bit to make it not a kids program. The humour is very childish and the acting is more akin to something from CBBC than a prime time drama.

We cant seem to do any kind of fantasy or sci-fi show in this country without it being seen as something for children. Though saying that America seems to have given up with sci-fi as well recently.

To be honest I thought Tennants Dr was extremely childish. Thinking about it, I found the Tennant episodes childish, but Tennant maybe not so. Matt Smiths Dr though on the other hand, the dr is childish, but the episodes not?

Then again I havent liked any of the new dr whos or torchwood, but still watch them. It may be childish, but at least its not "Britains got talent/xfactor/dancing/give us your money by voting"

I can only agree with what he says. The vast majority of popular shows seem to be rather "family friendly" at times.

Everything is to PC and as you guys say "family friendly" right to the point I left.

It always got me with movies, the the things they would cut out you just never understood why?
Funny watching movies here, even some semi bad stuff with swearing as long as its not mega 18 rated movie at 8pm if a film has some violence or swearing they show it. They just do the sky movies style rating and warning at the start of every movie and any gritty drama like CSI.

Im sure Luther was aimed at adults, and it was quite good..............but dont you think it was rather weird and surreal? That was its downfall for me

I liked the fact it was a little weird, Good character development, and some surprising bits.  Also Alice was one of the best characters Ive seen in any TV series ever.

Doctor who is meant for kids. Its like bitching about the lack of sex in Toy Story. Hes completely missed the mark, the problem aint primetime entertainment programs, the problem is sh*t like hammonds engineering connections and that rainforest expidition crap they did a while back - they go out as science and nature programmes respectively but the former is a embarrassingly dumbed down celebrity vehicle and the later was a f**king reality TV show.

The only decent ones they do now are, BBC news, Horizon, and Coast imo. Hammond should get lost. Anyone see that invisible world bollocks? It was bollocks.

I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

Then again they did kill off her boyfriend rather than just dumping him back on earth.
