Rant: People who stop when they shouldn't.
on: March 08, 2022, 23:17:00 PM
Sorry but a rant but I am sure I am not alone in the confusing with how some people think here.

Escalators:
WHY, WHY do people get to the top of an escalator and get off and then just stand there. Hit the back of a couple(50's) with pram the other day who had the initial nerve to moan I hit them. (Escalator being one of those flat ones for trollies etc) But after my "Its an escalator" just grumbled and moved on.
Happens often enough to just confuse the hell out of me and I can not understand people here.

Roads:
The people who cross the road, either at 0.00001 meters per second or worse, the ones who again stop just after crossing the road and be dammed if anyone else behind them.

It does lead to all the people who just lack the spacial awareness to know people are around them and get in the way, or not get out of the way because they have no clue where they are let alone others.

Is it just me?

People just lack awareness generally, spatial or not, or don't pay enough attention. Like the clowns I see stopping at empty roundabouts every day instead of driving straight over. A quick curse and on with my day though, it's best not to dwell on idiocy.

It seems worse, it just feels like Humans have had an evolutionary step backwards on this.

I vaguely remember getting a lot of rage when shopping in NZ when we first came here. The trolleys are different (front wheels are locked straight, limiting maneuvers) and it felt like everyone was in the way. I felt the UK was better in terms of trolley tech and that shoppers were more conscientious to get out the way and not block aisles.

I think I've become habituated to it now though. No more rage when shopping.

Even with COVID social distancing in place this wasn't the case, so I could not disagree with you more on the UK folk and I actively avoid supermarkets to not have to deal with those sorts of people.
