Anyone else actually voted (12/12/2019)?
on: December 12, 2019, 12:23:36 PM
Looks goddam dismal, nearly didn't bother but went anyway. Reality is I am hoping for a hung parliament. None of the leaders deserve to get elected.

Seems Boris voted in his old constituency, so couldn't even find the stomach to vote for himself.

Should get a postal vote sorted but that would mean I miss the couple of hundred meters walk to the polling station.

Yep, does feel entirely pointless though.

Usual for me, spoiled ballot, last time I wrote a daub about HSBC and banking, this time more simple, probably just going to write ALL sh*t with a sharpie.

I'm quite surprised by the landslide result, I think the vocalness of Labour voters had more influence than anything else. Conservatives clearly came out in force to stop a landslide the other direction.

Maybe if people kept politics off social media the results would be vastly different? :dunno: Never going to happen though.

It's always pick your poison. So now we have corn fed sh*t instead of nutty sh*t.

If I were to wrap it all up in one word it would be Corbyn.

If you want the basics the general public aren't sure he's right, not even the Labour voters. He didn't even have to go for the General election, he could have made a deal with the other opposition parties and kept Boris hanging there impotent.

He wanted to be Prime Minister, to have the power to reforge the trade deal as he thought fit.

There was a small swing to the Tories, and Lib-Dems caused by Corbyn but Labour also had to compete with Brexit party MPs. Under that sort of situation it was inevitable that the best they could get was another hung parliament.

Corbyn sent his MPs in like the Charge of the Light Brigade. He effectively betrayed his party and country.

The system has been in desperate need of reform for ages regardless of which of the current joke parties is in power.

Glad I am over here in Australia. Whole different kettle of fish here though.
With the fires in NSW and drought already in effect and Summer only just starting there is a bit argument between the NSW state government and actual government on who is to blame and the national gov wont help NSW with the fires because of nothing other then spite.
Always arguing over funds and resources and NSW state gov specifically is very much opposite actual gov and they fight constantly.

Power companies and more specifically the old coal minor billionaires with a few of the retail ones actually pull the strings in Australia.

New Zealand is just amazing but just does not have the money and tech (no apple stores for example) and things so stuff is very expensive.

Glad I am over here in Australia.

My Bro lives over in Western Australia on the coast so I check up on how things are there every so often. Seems Sidney has been blanketed in smoke for weeks now? Disturbing.

American ones are already suffering badly from cheap renewable energy. That's why Trump cannot save them despite his promises. Dubai has signed a contract for solar electric for effectively less than the price of gas generation.

America could join it's electric networks together and use it's deserts to generate more solar power than they need. Australia would be stupid not to do the same.

Had a couple of gamer friends across in NZ, always complaining about the price of internet access.

Smoke / Smog:
Has been better last few days but for like 3-4 weeks every day was some form of smog with some really bad days. The sun was red, ash outside you can feel the heat in the air and it was not from the sun!

Trump and US:
Trump has gone so hard in Coal Coal Coal etc to help his mates out the deals are being done for outside contractors for all the renewable like you mentioned. By the time that all HAS to be used all the money will be going to foreign powers and companies and nothing to the US.

Australia Solar:
A number of states are already setting up solar and working with Tesla as well on all this. Tesla rough solar has been marked to target Australia soon after they establish properly in the US.
