Title: Beef Wellington
Post by: addictweb on March 21, 2009, 23:01:39 PM
Ive been getting into cooking recently and Saturday has become the day that I cook for the other half. I thought i should start contributing back to the forums, not that this is much.

I cooked the Gordon Ramsay Beef Wellington tonight and it went fantastically. Got everything from ASDA (a conscious decision to try a low cost meal for once. The 560g fillet of beef was £11 instead of > £20 at the posh local butchers).

and i served it with a home made mustard vinaigrette, i added about 3 times the amount of mustard but essentially it was the same recipe as found here (http://www.reluctantgourmet.com/mustard_vinaigrette.htm). Also served it with sautéed potatoes (in recipe) and curly kale - not in the recipe but i love it and ASDA didnt have any gem lettuce.

I very successful night so far ... and ive just moved from wine to the vodka martinis (made with my new Georgian martini maker ... pictured).
