Biggest Forum Group Memories
on: December 09, 2018, 23:53:21 PM
Let's ignore the physical meetups but what memories do you have or things that stick out for you on these forums?

- The Arnie avatar and quote periods from a group of us
- The egg cooking on a CPU
- The switch to SMF after all the issues and the work by various people to fix and restore data etc but the loss of other stuff.

- Night Dwellers Association threads
- Over the top watercooling rigs
- Mark's insane turbo'd cars
- TekCraft Minecraft shenanigans
- Unreal Tournament epic CTF and 1 vs 1 matches
- People throwing their toys out the pram and leaving

- Huge generational PC technology leaps (more drastic than nowadays) leading to deep tech discussion.
- Threads on games, when people had time for games  Even if we all had the same time now, the gaming ecosystem is so much more diverse it's unlikely most would be playing the same games at the same time anyway.
- +1 on the Tek Minecraft server  I have very fond memories of playing on that.
- Knighty and his numerous threads on different ways he's injured himself.
- Pranking icekay when he used memes hosted on my web space in threads, then changing the images to gay porn.
- Active posters like Sam, Tongy, Berkswolf, Deaths Head, Skidzilla etc and many others just upping sticks and ucking foff, I remember so many names and it's a massive shame to see them all gone.
- Andy with his mental nova with a silly engine in it  :D
- For sale and wanted actually being a busy legit place where trade was done.

I also remember the random late night stuff which varied but I recall discussions on the bot names being generated in the late hours. Sleep deprived people just posting on crazy sh*t, lol.

The frying an egg on a CPU thread will never be forgotten.

I honestly miss the annual dictator moderation threads. Was quite fun reading all the posts shutting down the thread late at night and re-opening the next day.

A couple of the other mods seemed to think I was loony letting it go on but it would have been worse shutting it down.

The Knighty has tried to suicide again threads were good too.

I still remember a cople of the tricks I got up to like copying someone's post down in a time travel thread and then editing the original to make it look like the had edited it. Then there was the time I asked one member if they had ever been barned? (BARNED)

How about that thread where we found we could all change our nicknames and pretend to be other members?
