so youre saying that there is a bloke out there with a gmail account who has never recieved an e-mail but is still sending mail to his mates with no reply and has been using it to register on websites & must be wondering why he is not getting a confirmation link sent.

must be a better explanation than that surely

yep thats what im saying.

Russell was having the problems for about 3 months before he got the idea and did the return path thing.

Ross is a relatively new guy Ive had his emails now for about 1 and a half months.

people always seem to jump to the conclusion that gmail is at fault when it is more likely human error, that is what happened with the first appearance of this so called problem.

After all the bad press about it last time, which turned out to be false, google will have made damn sure that it couldnt happen.

I agree with dave on the probable reasoning behind this. Would be so easy to do and i am sure this would be a much bigger issue if it could occur due to the amount of coverage it got last time. Every tom, dick and harry@gmail.com would be trying to make accounts to do just this.

It has to be a typo with him tbh... that is far too recent

certainly when I tried a few months ago it wasnt possible to register different dot combinations of the same user name.
