In all cases it gets processed through your kidneys, unless you have a liver/kidney, in which case the body can try to excrete some of it out of the skin.

Getting sun burned has no effect and blondes with freckles should have an even worse problem.

TBH my mum had a problem in that her skin couldnt tan at all, every time she burned and it went back to normal so she could do it again. She didnt have any noticeable smell either.

Of course, if they are in the TA its probably because they are pissing themselves with fear rather than anything else. ^_^
