Title: EU backs ending daylight saving time
Post by: Serious on September 01, 2018, 01:42:23 AM
Seems most EU people oppose having to change their clock time twice a year, it gives no advantages to most and causes health issues. Really if people want to get up at different times they can just set their alarm earlier, or later.

It won't be in place before Brexit.

Kind of annoying as a lot of software is written to support DST and will need to be changed if it comes into effect, though I would still support the change.

Reminds me of this campaign from 2010-2012 https://1010uk.org/lighterlater which was ultimately filibustered out.

I'll believe it when I see it implemented.

This won't apply to the UK if we get a no deal Brexit, but we had better start thinking about it anyway. We really need to link our time to Europe to avoid unnecessary economic issues.

I'm sure there will be plenty of other economic issues for this loony government to deal with.
