Just out of curiosity what did we use before JForum, was it IPB?

I use VBAdvance instead, because it costs more for not enough extra features.

I might be sounding a bit dense here but what precisely is wrong with how things work at the moment? Admittedly we could do with some new members but aside from that, well, we can read and write forum posts cant we? What more do people want?

the full VBAdvance CMPS costs, but the standard portal is free.  Ive got it on my website, but its in a pretty bare form at the moment because Ive been too busy for the last few weeks to customise it.

Ive also played with both "full" versions, and the VBAdvance one is far better.

have a look under the Tier Systems List.  Itll allow imports for JForum 2.1.5 apparently, may work with 2.1.8.  As said, if you prefer to use something else, but want to use the impex scripts youre more than welcome to use my site for converting.  :)

Its more an issue of the server its on, its by no means reliable or giving the forums any long term security. It really needs to come off.

If it comes off, unless we use Jforum again  :gag: then we need a PHP alternative.

So we have a VB License all we need is a PHP server, well now we have something to chip in for :P, unless someone has a spare server to host on :P
