also just went to order some 1 day ones online and hadn't realised I need I need extra measurements, size of eye, base curve etc. etc.

vision express where I had my eyes tested didn't give me that stuff... think I need to get my first set from them and then (fingers crossed) all that info will be on the first box they send me.... tho I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't... cheap eye tests to get you in the door then you're stuck with them :-s

You need to get all this sorted if you not done so yet.
Left and Right eyes can be different (like me) as well. And you got to buy your right box at x and left at y etc.

tried the glasses when they turned up.... they're horrible, killer headache within minutes

I'm short sighted, so glasses counteract that... but it is normal to lose some near-sight with them on?

with them on I can see distance really well, shocking how good it is, like the contrast has been turned up to 1000 but... I can't read my phone with them on?

I'm -2 in each eye, so that's not loads?

If you never have worn glasses before you got to keep at it to get used to it.
Even if you wear sun glasses often it is a different thing.
The pressure above your ears for a long period of time gives you headaches. It just takes time for your brain to adjust.
Same with the new focus, it hurts the brain till it goes "I do not actually have to try harder to focus, oh, ok"

Ive been wearing glasses now about 10 years, i tried contacts and just couldnt put them on my eye, although i think they are by far the best option and im looking to get some soon and get rid of my glasses.
