Problem is quite complex with this forum. But basically, a lot of people are getting older and have different priorities now. I joined this place bloody years ago when watercooling was just starting. I now have two kids so obviously that takes up all my time.
Secondly, I'm a lurker, most people on this place probably don't recognise my nick too easily and I think there may be quite a few people similar to me. I post here and there but not very often. So sadly I'm not gonna contribute much to the site and I am probably part of the problem too. However, I do like coming to this place to read the threads and I have enjoyed some of the guides recently.
So, basically, this post is just to say us lurkers are about and appreciate the effort you guys are putting in to even consider the amount of work you're talking of getting yourselves into.
It is not actually that much work.
Me and Nige make websites for a living for example and we have already looked at linking forums and wordpress and there are a number of things you can do.
Key is getting the community and watch them create the buzz.
It is doable and the way to save the community that built up and try and get some people back into it if it works. People are busy or loose interest but human nature is if they see something doing well they then want to be a part of it. No ill thoughts to those folks, just how people are but if we get people back then that is a goal achieved.
It will be a few people doing work at the beginning - no doubt in that BUT people will want to contribute once it is up and running.
It not that hard to write a review, write a story about something in the news.
