Got to make a business continuity document at work as part of our ISO9001 application.  Need to cover things like Network continuity, Backups, Systems, applications, infrastructure, business impact matrix etc.. and need to draft a document with a TOC and structure. Anyone done similar in the past or have any advice suggestions at all? Not sure what sort of stuff normally goes into something like this?

Riv
Career, Wife, Mortgage... my sig was better when it listed guitars and PC's and stuff!

Cough *ISO27001* Readie readie!

Impact matrix = piss. along x axis - minor, severe, grave

along y axis, the various threats (TR1335 used to have a good list of examples in the appendix IIRC)

Mark as appropriate.

Theres a whole heap of stuff to go into a Business continuity plan from SLAs with suppliers/outsourced IT, contact numbers, procedures... everything pretty much.

Its interesting work - wish I was doing some!

Done.

Be warned ISO standards are bloody expensive to buy copies of. Suggest you get chummy with someone with an ATHENS account and get them to get one. :)

Yeah Info Assurance is really interesting. Id love to be involved in producing SSIs, Sy Ops, ADS and other assurance stuff. Risk Mitigation and Planning is just part of it.
