I like it better as it is now.

Not sure well ever use the programming section since we have such a wide range of users but you never know :)  Least the stuff that goes in there now will get an answer pretty quick which is more useful.

Someone stole my left handed scissors at work today, but Im the only left handed person. Was a great mystery.

On topic - new inovative posts wont come until radical new technology arrives, or a wealth of new blood arrives.

Stop moaning about the forum software/the people currently here, and make some good suggestions!

My suggestion, is there a list of email addresses of members that havent posted for a while? Maybe a mailshot could bring some people back? (Not my idea originally).

It hasnt changed a thing.

Most innovative tech post of the week.

Nominations are:

"What system should I get cause I have almost no money but need to upgrade" wow... totally different from the norm.

"Im going to give a crack, just thought Id make a post about it"

"Oh n0es... the internetz got cheaper! :o"

The award goes to:

"OH N0ES! the internetz got cheaper! :o"

Then the most pointless forum award... only one entry in this one... Development & Programming, with a grand total of zero posts.

I totally understand the reason why youve done the change, look at the huge amount of completely different type of posts we get now.

irc quizzes = lifestyle @ red.

We have bugger all technical knowledge compared to bit-tech, or AV-Forums. In fact most of the members knowledge comes from those forums I would have though, given the number of times at least AV Forums is mentioned.

Majority of "technical posts" arent even bloody technical, theyre "what do I buy". A shop assistant in pc world would help most of these people. Instead of pimping tekforums as a buyers guide, how about just leaving it as is, and solving the root cause of the problem, lack of exposure.

The change has been up for all of five minutes and you were able to draw all of those conclusions so fast?

More to the point (not aimed specifically at you M3ta7h3ad but more in general) why so much whining about moving some forums around? If you dont like it give it a few months and see if it makes a difference. Actually whats not to like, its the order of some forums, the only difference is you now have to scroll down a little to post in the lifestyle stuff. Get a grip people. If there were ever proof that these forums are stagnating and we need some new people on board this thread is it.

I opened the necessary forums, and paraphrased the topics within them.

Yeah.

Like I said there are other forums out there with more technical bias, were a lifestyle forum.

Wow yet more sterling hyperbole.

I am starting to love your exaggerated posts the more I read them, have you got a newsletter?

You know I could have moved ten or so posts across to populate the new forum, but I figured it would populate itself, and what do you know: someone has come along with INITIATIVE instead of whining about it and created a useful first post.

It really doesnt matter what is at the top, TBH I would have preferred to have an option for everyone to choose but I doubt if thats going to happen with this piss poor software.

Im happy to change forum software if someone pays for a VB license (or whatever) cos Im not. And at the moment I dont have a PHP server to run PHP forums on, so unless it works with Resins PHP4 support then it will have to be Java based.

Whats the price? Im willing to put in £20. Others will be willing to put in dosh too. Getting a pay for hosting might be an option too.

As soon as people start donating the following will happen.

E.g. I donate £10, then I get banned for being an arse, I then run around screaming how I paid for the software/hosting. Or I start demanding extra privilages etc.

Not saying it cant work, but that is a likely scenario.

I prefer it as it is now. Ive always checked the more techy forums for new posts before pottering into the discussion forums; so this is ideal ;)

As happened when someone took over the hosting and then went stroppy because I edited their posts still   Should have known I wouldnt budge for anything.

Then there was the Trubs incident. I buy a load of gubbins off Tekheads so I should get preferential treatment and the Mods should leave my posts alone. Not a hope, they got edited like everyone elses.

They can scream and shout but its a donation, not like buying shares.
