You can get a 3 bedroom old Victorian cottage in my hood for £120K and have a three mile drive to downtown.
Ive got a five bedroom brick built terraced town house right in the centre of North Shields (shops just around the corner, pub across the street) which I bought with my brother for £72k a couple of years back. Although I had to spend another £2.5K on new windows, £1,400 on a new central heating boiler and £600 ion a new fireplace and gas fire for the living room, although the thing never gets switched on. Overall we have still put in less than £80k. TBH I dont want to find out what its worth on the open market but I suspect its worth a little more than weve paid out.
Presently trying to get the government to pay for cavity wall insulation, another thing for Sam and all those lovely tax payers to contribute to
I was looking at three bedroom houses in Whitley bay, seems to be some nice ones for about £160k in easy walking range of the beach.
