Bought a GPU from Nealieboyee, http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=232955 and today whilst watching the world go by a Night freight vehicle pulled up outside my door. I thought this cannot be for me though I do know he uses this courier service. The driver came with this big box and it was for me. Big box contains GPU.

This is the packaging which I think you will agree takes some beating.

On arrival.

Opened.

GPU.

Thanks to Nealieboyee for the GPU and the added bonus of a large box of polystyrene chips. +REP.

Pfft, I've handed out more bubble wrap than that in my time

I received a box from Dabs once that was that size, with a printer cable cellophaned to the bottom. What annoys me most though when companies you buy from do this is that they stick the item on the bottom then pile the polystyrene peanuts on top, so as soon as the package is dropped it gets all the impact anyway. ::)

Looks like he must have stuck that graphics card in the middle

Yes impressive but all those chips is a bitch, it is ok if they are biodegradable though like popcorn or the like :)

Aren't they often made from corn starch nowadays. Simple way to test is to get one wet and see if they dissolve :D

that's rare - amazon are usually pretty good, part of their warehouse system involves automatically selecting the correct sized box/package for the order IIRC. Then again I guess some products could be badly classified or they might run low on certain boxes or something.....

That was my confusion, Amazon are normally really good on materialistic packaging but 1st I got that uber size box and then when I opened it the 'used space' was a 5inch round mouse mat (10inch long).

BT Business direct and Dell - worst offenders ever without any competition. BT frequently send us laptop box sized parcels that contain 1 external USB drive, and Dell will always put a SAS drive in what really should be mounted on a pallet! I wouldn't mind so much bout Dell don't even package it properly inside and its bouncing around the box!!
Career, Wife, Mortgage... my sig was better when it listed guitars and PC's and stuff!
