Don't know if there are any other classic rock fans on here but I just saw that Jon Lord has passed away from cancer :-( the hammond will never sound the same again :(

Can't say I was ever a massive follower of Deep Purple but RIP nonetheless, It feels like every day there is less and less real talent still in the music industry.

That's true Clock'd, we seem to be getting a lot of these threads recently. Jon was a top bloke too, I had the pleasure of meeting him once, such a modest genius.

smoke on the water was one of the first songs I could just about attempt to play back when I was 13 and got a guitar for Christmas
