Mark Zuckerberg is getting roasted by Congress

Various threats of strong legislation being talked about. I wonder if anything will actually change.

The amount of scamming going on is pretty ridiculous at the moment. The fact that facebook allow scammy adverts is pretty useless, google too.

Some regulation would help.

Yahoo is actually worse, I seem to be reporting adverts claiming Bill Gates is resigning from Microsoft, Richard Brandson is quitting Virgin, Elon Musk is stepping down from Tesla, and occasionally others, all to do Bitcoin?

Oh and Teresa May's government has earmarked a whole £9 million to deal with crime on the dark web. I would laugh if it were not for real.

They had a line that was further away from what it should be because they were making money. The fact is most companies, services and even applications and even video games run a methodology of leaving something till enough people complain.
A bug, something that may be a little iffy and so on - Leave it till someone notices, leave it till a certain level of people kick up a fuss.

Look at EA. They been increasingly doing a number of things from a poor game methodology structure, timelines and funding for most of its games (Creating a lot of crap) as well as the increased monetisation methods to make money.
They allowed a number of years of bad reviews, press and issues as they still were making money (gamers complain but they still buy the dam games!) and only action anything when it goes too far.

People forget, things move on so it is not till law or legal becomes involved and actually looks to issue change.

It is truely the world run by corporations and its only when they hit the government ledges when they trip up. America already has a businessman looking to change things to help himself and his business mates make more money and in 100 years as sci-fi tells us, before the robots start taking over we will have governments with little to no power and corporations running the earth.

It seems like literally every other post on Facebook is now a sponsored scam, its quite reprehensible when you think how large they are and the manpower they have to find alternatives or to deal with the problem, but instead Suckerberg chose to be Mr Data Accumulator. GDPR is hopefully changing that here for any reputable company, where I work we've had to invest a lot of time making sure our stored data is secure, only what's necessary and above all accountable and transparent for the user.

I haven't had a bitcoin one in a while, they supposedly banned them? I report every one I think is a scam, now get very few, although I keep getting Amazon adverts every day, don't mind that.

Had a quick scroll through facebook to see what ads I was getting.

Kickstarters for products that "hit $10000000 within minutes", and local electronics shops, with a few mountain biking sports shops thrown in for good measure.

TBH the ones that annoy me are the kickstarters and (though I didn't get any this time) the ads for mobile games using fake/stolen footage. It's my own fault though as I've clicked on a few in the past to read the comments or to just see how scammy they are, so facebook now thinks I'm interested in them!

You can remove ones you don't want to be associated with in your settings. Also remember to report any that are obvious scams, at least to say you don't like them.
