So much for all the denials and claims there isn't the time. A true opportunist with the polls giving her a strong lead.

Only good thing that might come out of this is Labour getting rid of Corbyn or the Liberals making a surprise come back.

don't really care about politics... but seams like a good idea that whoever is in power for brexit has a min. 5 years to sort it out

My problem isn't May, she's attempting to capitalize on good poll ratings for the conservatives, and improve her party's lead in the commons.  That is a good tactic, despite the fact it's exactly what she said she wouldn't do. It will reduce the power held by conservative back benchers who might vote against her policy.

My problem is Corbyn looking even more stupid than I feared. He is going straight for her trap, that will allow Labour's right to push him to resign when the polls come up. Then it's probably better if he does go if he votes for this election.

Had Corbyn been consistently against Brexit there may be a point in accepting, he could have got a lot of support from Europhiles, made staying in a big issue, and maybe stopped Brexit happening at all. As it is it's stupid.

a lot changes in politics from when she said she did not have the time.
SNP have shown their hand in wanting another referendum.
Lib Dems have shown theirs in wanting to put as many hurdles & obstacles in the way of leaving the EU.
labour has no hands.

As long as Scotland are part of the UK & SNP in power up there, then Conservatives will stay in power. As SNP hold the seats that Labour would need to wrestle power from the tories.

Strangely at the moment I'm more politically attuned with the SNP and, of course, can't vote for them.

Even with all the SNP seats Labour don't have a hope of being in power and Corbyn is too left for my preference.

May claimed to be after looking after the general public but the more she's in power the more she looks like a mini-Thatcher.

Lib-Dems have a hill to climb just getting back to where they were before the last election.

I kind of see the election as a preemptive excuse. There's only one outcome that isn't good for the conservatives, vs loads that are.

Split it into two categories, Brexit = proper mess, or Brexit = success.

Proper mess

Success

Part of me also reckons May might not want to be PM anyway...

Would anyone feel hurt if there was a hung parliament?

Labour and Conservatives tied with Lib-Dems and SNP holding the balance as to who gets in?

OK, I might prefer hanging certain politicians but that isn't an option at the moment, or maybe...

Not a chance, they're busy fixing their zimmers again :p
