I really couldn't give a toss if my phone runs slower in 3/4 years time when realistically I'll probably be considering an upgrade anyway, I'm happy trading that for a phone that just works all the time, backs everything up for me automatically and has frequent no hassle upgrades. The recent shortcomings of CPUs in general are far more concerning.
I would never own an overpriced iMac, but I'm happy to go balls deep on a phone ecosystem.
I do give a toss when there is nothing wrong with my ipad - I only used it for basic stuff - internet, check email, etc. - IOS7 rendered it useless as it was just to slow to do anything.
I have had to jailbreak it & run an emulator to run an older IOS as I dont have any backup blobs. - If this was done intentionally by apple, then I have a big f**king issue. I have no problem with low battery life over performance & it should be choice to choose battery over performance or performance over battery.
As for Imac being overpriced.... I paid £1500 for my imac
iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011)
2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
I upped the ram to 12gb (max it will support supposedly & it run absolutely fine, as well as it did the day I bought it.
£1500 for a machine that is 6 1/2 years old IMO is good value.
