He took a step back of his own accord, always under the provision of being able to come back when he felt he wanted to.

Rather than skulking off the otter way without as much as a decent goodbye.

Meh The otter rocked, he left and the forum took a nosedive.

Cycling - Dead
Photography - Dead
Food and Drink - Sort of dead, otter was the primary man for random food photos in waffle, if he was here that forum would be thriving.

Actually... fc9k disappearing has also killed quite a bit.

Cycling - more dead.
Technobabble about random crap - Dead

Thus reducing this forum to a bunch of people discussing "what you doing this weekend" "someone give me a job" and the random addition of a shops support forum that is deader than dead. Most posts being by our old members.

meh.  :nana: :bounce:

Seriously, just go away if you dont like it here that much any more.

You are the sole person bringing the tone down here now. Mellow out and enjoy it for what it is or go elsewhere - internets really arnt serious business. Start up Metalhead Forums and see how many members you get. Whatever.

You missed out Linux as a specific, but otherwise I would almost agree with you. Cycling depended a lot on him, as did Food and Drink. Photography though never did, he didnt post there much. We have at least one professional photographer on here and several pretty impressive amatures.

I may do just that at sometime in the future, I rarely post here nowerdays anyway, well anything beyond "get your act together this forum is sh*t" comments anyhow.

Guess I genuinely want to actually stay here, but youre right... the forums are crap as they are, and im sure at somepoint I will give up coming here.

True about linux on the desktop. I use linux on a multittude of servers in work, so im fairly damn au fait now with red hat at least, as well as cornet, shakey and some others, but yeah, he was a bit of a guru with the desktop installs.

True, youre right about the photography.

By the way, I dont disagree about max, I wish he was back. But the way he left wasnt nice to us that had stood by him and given him leeway. Id still like to see him back here.

ZOMG its all gotten serious!
