New Job and Holiday
on: April 01, 2006, 00:34:41 AM
Im in a prime position at the moment for a full time job Ive applied for. Ive been already told that Ill get 20 days holiday for the first year. However Ive made plans to go away 2 weeks this summer. Though this isnt final I was wondering what chances I will have of being given the time off. I estimate this will be just 3 months after I start, considering I get the job.

depends what the job is tbh..

probably  be ok if you book the time off asap - just bear in mind that lots of people will be booking time off during the summer so if it is critical that a certian ammount of people are there in the office etc.. then you may have some trouble.

Generally if youve booked to go away before you start your contract your employer will be gracious and give you the time anyway

Is there some law about that? I know a lot of places will specifically ask you about whether you have anything booked and will usually let you have it off, it may just be that if it is quite close to your start date it will be unpaid.
