There are specialists who do this sort of thing but the best place to get in touch is through a recording studio. When transferring you need the best equipment as well as the best software and in that case the best people can pull something out that others cant. Digitally remastering can not only repair faults but canenhance what is there in other ways too. /free software might be able to equal the stuff a pro uses but your PC and deck probably wont.

Not to try and be a nuisance to the thread, but what youre talking about to me seems completely different to what hes asking for? :|

Kunal - is the unencoded source already mastered? If so then yeah you just need to convert it to a lossless format - theres no extra tweaking for speciifc formats (unless its been mastered badly). If its not mastered and thats what your after then I do know a guy - he did our album for us and did a great job (PM me for contact). DONT go to a recording studio unless they have a good reputation for mastering - most average studios will offer it but do a sh*t job because its a very specific skill to do properly and experts tend to setup dedicated mastering studios. The good studios Ive worked with tended to do a quick master free with the recording price then recommend a professional masterer - they rarely offered to do the full master themselves.

If Im miles out on what your after sorry!!  8-)
Career, Wife, Mortgage... my sig was better when it listed guitars and PC's and stuff!

No problem. I freely admit that I know faff all about creating music, as in playing instruments, but I do know a good bit about business and just enough about processing music. In this case I think its exactly what he asked for. If the person owns the copyright and is going to sell then having the stuff done professionally is the right thing to do.

If Rivkid is saying that he knows someone who can do it well then I would go with his reccommendation. A personal reccommendation of excellence from a musician is probably worth a good few bucket loads of advice from others.

Kunal,

Steve has a mate who has his own studio who does recording and mastering, I expect he may be able to help as it is his job and does professional work.

I guess it depends on what you need really, if its just a direct copy from a digital source then any PC could achieve it without loss to flac for example, but Im sure you have thought about that. If it needs some mastering then obviously thats not going to cut it.

If there is any graphic manipulation then obviously Steve or Renay could do it, as far as tagging Im not sure either would do that, but thats an half an hour job really. And as far as embedding images.... not a clue :)

Give me a call if you want any more details?

Cheers
