Not really. The IRA arose because of the english occupation of ireland and quite frankly disgraceful oppression and treatment of the natives.

Im protestant but even I think it wasnt on what happened years ago. But still, it was years ago.

Religion hasnt killed anyone. Even in the crusades religion didnt kill.

It is however the worlds scapegoat, its blamed for everything from disease, famines, droughts, to terrorism, and wars.

Man, is responsible for most of those things. We pillage the land, and our fellow human beings, we have a need to feel as if we own something (disputes in NI... perfect examples... we belong to britain... no we dont. This is orange men territory... no it aint), we have things such as greed, jealousy, and lust.

Those 3 things drive us to destroy ourselves, not religion. People may do it falsely in the name of a particular faith, but that does not mean the fault is purely that of the faith.

If I choose to kill someone because they disrespected my family... my family is not to blame, I am.

Yet if I choose to kill someone because someone disrespected my faith, my faith and everyone that believes in it, is suddenly made the enemy.

*p.s. Me being sane, and of sound mind... would not choose to kill someone :)*

Why is that a good excuse? its someone just saying that they want god to bless the troops. If anything it could be taken to mean that they do not believe that he does so already.

Thus they are fighting without gods blessing, and hes asking him for it, but not getting it.

Just because one man yells something, does not make it truth. Look at seriouss thread about mobile phones for example.
