personally i think youre trying to be a student too long. i know people who foundit really hard to leave uni after they finished.

theres a massive world out there and theres lots ofplaces to work. in the real world youre quite likely to get rises more often as you leave uni and prove youre good for it. id consider a 3 year contract pretty bloody secure. ive had permanent jobs which ive regarded as being less secure cos i didnt want them to last 3 years.

is there the opportunity to spend a week there after your exams and meet the people and do the job to help you decide?

I dunno, will have to ask next week. I think theyre looking for someone to start ASAP so asking if I can visit after the 21st of May before giving them an answer is maybe a big ask?

Its not so much trying to be a student too long, my career/industry is environmental science research and thats what the work at uni would be. Its just the difference between an academic or commerical position.

The other advantage of uni is that Itd leave me open to being able to go travelling after the contract if nothing else has come up. The Cefas work is likely to not be up for me going travelling for a few months *shrugs*

Id agree though, there is an element of not wanting to go out into the big wide world. The pay is an issue though, as Cefas is known for not paying much so I might get a raise, but equivalent work elsewhere would pay more. It comes down to what value I put on the experience!
