The Flat Earth Crazy
on: March 11, 2019, 01:53:02 AM
This is really scaring me a lot. The increase in all this is crazy and there is even a documentary on Netflix about them now.
In that Documentary some of them do a very simple test which they thought would prove the earth is flat, in fact it showed it was a ball because the light was lower then they thought it would be.

Most of these loonies refuse any facts, dispute them or ignore them and create their own crazy non scientific tests to prove the earth is flat. Many even disagree how the map, sun and moon work in their flat earth modals.

Thanks to Youtube this is one of the biggest growing "Cults" as it were out there at the moment and I just do not understand peoples thinking at all. It easy to call them dumb and idiots but there are even some celebrities out there now believing this. Nasa works for the government so everything and anything they do is fake or staged to these folks, and to answer all the new private companies hitting it up in space - They working with them. Like I said - Any and every excuse to not believe the truth.

What "On Earth  :nana: " Is happening!

True,
It is doing the opposite to what they think. The risks and conditions they "THINK" it causes are unchanged but the mortality rate in babies/kids and diseases because they NOT taking it is on the increase.
Here in Australia you get NO benefits now if you do not vaccinate your kids.

I was talking about this in our office the other day, its incredible to think with how far humanity has come, that all this technology has actually enabled this kind of thinking to spread.

The sad fact is you cannot change the minds of these people. They are not capable of critical thinking and will not listen to logic or reason.

Flat Earthers I can live with as its a relatively harmless thing, but the pro-death camp need to be dealt with punitively. If you don't vaccinate your kids, it should result in prison and the children should be taken into social care (unless there is obviously a legitimate reason they are not suitable for vaccination). That would cut the BS out completely.

Whatever it is, no matter how daft, you can never rule out the 1% possibility that somehow they're right

Flat earth does look a load of BS. I rule it out 99% but never 100%, stranger things have happened.

Science of course is our understanding as of now of course. But discoveries advance that science.
But both the observations thousands of years ago to the fact that even you and I can send something to the fringes of space and see the curvature :)
The Earth is not round though. If a flat Earth idiot says this then they are correct BUT its not flat either, it is a oblate spheroid :)

Add Brexiteers to that list. Most haven't got a clue as to the implications or of leaving under WTO rules.

Basically they are prepared to see UK manufacturing die, a huge amount of our financial services move out and we get contested by every nation with a grudge against us. We also get sued by Japan and other countries that have businesses with manufacturing here.

There are reasons why the government is terrified  :panic: :nana: :panic: :nana: :panic: :nana: Yet it includes loons like Boris Johnson who think the backstop is negotiable. Not if you understand why it is there.

[edit] Also add climate change deniers...

People moan about people from the EU taking jobs, but what people will find when many have to leave (which will end up being the case regardless of any deals) is that there will actually be job gaps as well. It will all fall over.

People voted and didn't know what they were voting for. A vote just appeared and people thought "Anti government, lets vote the other option". No one made it clear what it would mean, I do not think the experts even fully reviewed at the time what it would mean.

They should just scrap the whole thing and focus on building back up the country. The UK Gov seems fully focused on this alone.

Reality is the EU people actually put more money in than they take out. They don't steal jobs, they do jobs British people don't want or are not qualified for.

If it was a real problem the UK government would reinstate the nurses' bursary, which they removed making it very expensive for British people to train.

Brexit day was Friday just before midnight, and guess what? We are still in the EU, at least until the 12th. I suspect they are going to try for a much longer extension, although Teresa May might have another go at getting her deal through.

Perhaps they should have checked the legal issues BEFORE they put up a referendum for people to vote on? Having an actual workable plan would have been advantageous too...
