Exactly but there is also the issue of delayed reporting, so there are deaths that have been confirmed to be covid-19 related but still have not managed to get on the statistics.

Then other countries may be far worse than the UK, and some may intentionally forge the figures.

Seems UK_gov are now accepting EU aid in getting our nationals back home and a financial package to help businesses.

Here in Australia the partial lockdown has seen a massive drop in cases each day, New Zealand who did not have that many anyway went into full lockdown and also seen a massive drop.
Both are talking about going down in levels of lockdown.

The crazy people are getting more crazy though. Watching a channel I follow on Youtube (Scimandan)he debunks idiots and mainly flat earth idiots but he was covering one guy that said WHO said that you basically shove a hair dryer max power in your mouth and it kills Corona Virus... I mean OMG

You got the people burning down 5G towers and the new one going around that Bill Gates created this virus to prove his point and his cure will be the one everyone gets as that was the plan all along to inject you with nano bots so they can track and control you.

Everyone who is not into say video games or other activities they can do (personal coding projects here for example as well as Division 2) seem to be just going stir crazy and the idiots are just going more nuts.

I miss the days when the internet wasn't the mass platform for stupidity it is now. At least before the :tinhat: brigade were a minority and kept their BS views to themselves and the internet was a relatively safe haven for geeks. Now, social media is a giant megaphone for the masses to spread this mis-information and BS.

Forums FTW.

People have no idea what stir crazy is, throwing their toys out the pram because they've had to sit in and watch TV, play games or spend time with their families for a couple of weeks. It's utterly pathetic.

I am fairly sure the stupidity and craziness was there all along and the internet just made it more visible and spread wider.

Couple of days ago one of the American news channels had a video on of a woman leaving a church claiming she was "protected by the blood of Christ." Never protected Christians before her from infections.

Official American figures 14,797 covid-19 deaths so far, now higher than Spain and just 3,000 below Italy. Not surprising with that mentality.

Admittedly the Americans have a much larger population than Italy, but the average American is quite a bit younger too.

Yes, but it was never so widely accessible. Every cretin and their grandma can now get on 'that book of faces' and like and share utter horsesh*t that fits in their little echo chamber. Social media positively reinforces these echo chambers too.

She died

I don't think its all down to individual mentality. Admittedly there have been some cavalier attitudes, but when the POTUS and heads of state are telling you its a hoax, relax, go about yo' bidness what do you expect? Its been the same in every country that hasn't taken it seriously, including our own.

Now would POTUS Trumpus try to push unproven drugs like Hydroxychloroquine just because he and his friends have investments in the company that produces the brand version of the drug?

I mean he and others linked to him seem to have been very vocal in their support when medical professionals are saying that they expect relatively little efficacy and that side effects are possible.

POTUS has shown their "Task force" for getting things back to normal - None of them qualified to do so and so causing a stir of course.

In terms of the idiots and the net:
It is just so easy to stream from your phone even and with good cameras make half decent things from them. A lot of free video editing software now are actually very good and ever easier to use now. Just easy for dumb idiots to get out there and other idiots to listen and watch them :(

In terms of that crazy..

The Priest who defied all the stay at home stuff in America has not only contracted COVID-19 but has passed away with his wife sick with it as well. He said he was protected by god and would not get it and to quote him on it. When he was sick he said God would heal him.

A number of other hard core Christian Americans are contracting and dying from it because they are still grouping and preaching thinking god is the solution. I will be fascinated to see at the tail end of this with all the fanatical christians, especially in America... What their views are at the end of it all when their Priests and healers failed to do anything.

The anti-vaxxers/conspiracy nutjobs are coming out in force again though, "just get some vitamin C & D you'll be fine, you're dying because of inflammation!"

latest national ITU statistic

3800 patients in ITU
51% mortality rate

of the 51%....
70% are male
25% of them were 16-39yrs old

(from my sister, who got them from the hospital she works at)

I think ITU = ICU for us normal folk

Seems a lot of American churches were packed again last Sunday. Over 530,000 active American infections with at least 23,644 deaths. One family in a church could potentially infect everyone there.

There are also known instances of people in South Korea regarded as cured being found in testing to be infected again. It is unknown at this point if the virus was simply dormant or if they were reinfected.

or the tests were wrong the first time?

my sister is a nurse, was told she had it, tested and sent home, result came back negative so went back in to see head doctor guy... who said she definitely had it and sent her home again :-o

Tests are never guaranteed to detect an infection, there are always going to be false positives and false negatives. The covid-19 tests are new and as yet unproven.

There is also the potential problem that the virus might go dormant and resume activity later, or we might not be as resistant after being infected and recovering.

Don't assume that this is going to vanish during the summer either.

I just can not figure out why the people around Trump have not moved against him. He can not be that powerful, he is an idiot.
Republicans must not feel they have anyone that can possibly stay an election outside of Trump. Once he goes they must be on the verge of a total mess?

Light inside the body, disinfectant inside the body (claims now it was a joke or something)... And all the other presentations which he just tried to use as campaign propaganda affair.. Now claiming he has not left the white house for months...

I just can not figure out with everything that has happened in the last 4 years with this guy.... It just shows how moving your people into key positions and making certain laws basically shields you and keeps you protected.

Republicans have been slowly moving the goal posts and removing democratic protections, voter rights, using gerrymandering and other tactics to make a Republican office/senate so powerful it can't be stopped. The end game is fascism.
