Where to get a chair?
on: March 18, 2006, 11:31:14 AM
I need to get a new leather desk chair, coz mine (that i got from viking for £30 ages ago) is getting totally worn out. The cheapest I can find is £46.99 here. Does anyone know of any better uber cheap bargains at the moment?

Cheers
Joe

TBH, spend a little more.  Last time I was in focus diy there was a really nice leather chair for £90.

I cant afford £90, and besides, I know the cheap ones from viking are good enough for me. The £30 one I have now is great, its just the leather has worn out. The one I linked to is reduced from £117 anyway

Its usual that the very cheap ones are leather faced with just a thin layer of actual reconstituted leather which is why they arent so tough as full leather ones. They also tend to put them as reduced when in fact they arent really. The most they do is put them up at the higher price for a few weeks and then claim the reduction or put up the RRP and then say they have reduced from that. Makers will often put huge RRPs on furniture so the sellers can do this.

What a coincidence.  My Mum asked me this morning if my chair was ok, as theyre selling leather desk chairs in the local ASDA.  I think she said theyre £38.

Thats fine, thats what my current one is like and it has lasted me a year, I dont mind buying a new one.

This is the case in a lot of situations although with this one it is on their site at the "regular" price if you dont follow the special offer link anyway so it may not be. Either way I dont care so long as its cheap

if you want another viking one, check every other month, they always have a chair on offer, got mine from them about a year ago for £20 inc p&p

not as comfy as my one at home but not bad for the money
