You have to take insurance far more seriously than that though. I guess he must have thought he was screwed either way.

I think Id be in the same boat as him... accidents happen, he (apparently) lightly touched the front bumper of the car in front pulling away when it stalled... and then she started moaning on about whiplash...


a few years back a car drove into the back of my Volvo at the lights and nudged me forward into the car infront... hardly touched it... the car behind had hardly touched me tbh, it was more of a nudge than a crash...

anyway, my tow bar on the back saved my car, and there was no damage to the front of my car or the car in front, the guy at the back apologised plenty etc...  I said I wasnt bothered about my car because it was fine, the guy in front said the same... the guy at the back thanked us for being cool about it, said hed fix his car himself and went on his way...

as I drove away the guy in front must have written down my number plate.... a couple of months later he put in a claim against me for whiplash... and I lost losing 3 years NVB... left me about 2k out of pocket !
(if should have been passed on from my insurance to the guy at the back... but no-one had any details for him)

if I ever see that guy again (and Ive memorised his name) Ill give him more than bloody whiplash!

Tbh reading it, it doesnt matter whether the lady is a fat chav or not, and/or an idiotic driver, isnt good driving sense that you leave enough of a gap to stop...including in case the driver in front stalls/brakes? Im more surprised he even bothered to claim tbh. Thinking about it, the whole thing sounds chavvy ><

For many companies both sides have to fill in forms, even if they dont want compensation. In this case the male driver is trying to overturn her claim of whiplash damage, which would negate payment by his insurers and preserve his no claims bonus.
