To be fair - a lot of people came back after all the troubles to find this wasnt a technology forum anymore and left.
It used to be that this board had many of the same members from overclockers, OCUK, kustom, etc etc. After the problems this forum was reborn but with essentially zero overclocking, hardware advice, distributed computing, etc. Its changed into a more social thing about games and posting links to funny sites.
For a lot of people they just moved to other hardware forums and you do bump into them now and again still talking technology.
Steves hit it on the head there. Its more of a social thing here.
I actually miss most of the hardware talk, whatever happened to mongoose and his dual CPU behemoth!
lol always in awe of that I was.
I know mongoose is still an active member, but no more talk of his beastie.
The days when watercooling was a buzzword in the hardware forum, now its more a case of "what mobile" "what pc" "need new screen" noone seems to be into the whole overclocking stuffs here anymore.
Distributed computing and key counting groups... Now its more games, and entertainment and social.
Sometimes I look back and miss seeing posts of people boasting of CPU scores on PC Mark, or 3DMark scores, I joined here and having specs of your PC in your signature was so much the norm everyone had it.
