X factor or Modern day Carny
on: May 27, 2008, 08:58:56 AM
Went past a couple of fair grounds that were deserted this weekend, although there was some sun on sat & Sun in London.  Then went to the O2 and relised that all the folks that would go or end up working in the carny were at the x-factor auditioning or just there for the glamor.

Have the plethora of fame shows replaced the carny and fairground attractions for todays disillusioned youth?

Well it looked like the gypo staff of the fairground were all at x-factor lol.  For the word disillusioned youth read thick chavs.

Carnivals are sh*t. Chavs everywhere, expensive rigged games that you cant win and overpriced, dangerous rides. At least Simon Cowells never actually tried to kill me!!
Career, Wife, Mortgage... my sig was better when it listed guitars and PC's and stuff!

Rides are meant to give you a feeling of danger without being dangerous, if they were dangerous then they would never get a licence to run them.

Machines dont need to be rigged against you, they are built to favour the owners chances of winning. 70% payout is generally the minimum, without it they wouldnt be able to run the place and pay the staff.

That does mean that for every £ you put in you are only going to get 70p out on average.

Gambling is a losers game, unless you are running it, exept there are plenty of fools willing to part with their money for a little excitement.
