Youre dying anyway, so it makes no real difference. Its not as though the cat kills you or anything.

This is actually fairly common, they are just able to read things that we stopped being able to a long time ago.

There are numerous stories like this, which might be where Terry Pratchett got the idea that cats could see death. There are still things we do not understand at all.
