Elephant hunting

As part of a charity campaign to save the Asian Elephant, theres 250 uniquely painted adolescent-sized elephants dotted all across London at the moment. Decided to enjoy the sunshine on Saturday to go and see how many I could find... turned out that this is a brilliant way to see a few bits of London that I wouldnt normally come across, so that was cool too.

Full set here: Full Set

And to do my charitable bit here: http://www.elephantparadelondon.org/

1. Quadrophelephant - Orange Square, Chelsea

2. Coffee Shop Kid - Orange Square, Chelsea

3. Thundercats are go! - Trafalgar Square

4. Poser - Berkeley Square

5. TfL - Berkeley Square

6. My Herd!

Absolutely love these shots.

Seen lots of these about and tbh thought they looked crap but youve done a great job on them. Might try something similar next time I see one.

Ive seen that kind of pp done quite a bit, is it just manually selecting the foreground and making the background b/w?

Some lovely shots of a very cool idea.

Cant quite resist pointing out your mixing up of kiddies TV shows in the caption for no. 3 though, surely that should be "Thundercats - Ho!" (or "Thunderbirds are Go!, but theres no bird in the pic).

The selective colouring stuff was done using layer masks - just playing tbh - given more time and patience the finished effect could probably be a bit smoother.

Like this (although the example in the link is more complex than my version): http://www.graphic-design.com/Photoshop/selective_coloring/index.html

This demonstrates two things. 1) Im old 2) Inbetween my childhood and now Ive probably pickled my memory somewhere along the line.
