Some photos from a couple of weekends ago..

The close ups of the ducklings were taken with the 70-200mm L and 2x converter, which meant I had to resort to manual focus..

I love that Waterworks sign - looks awesome!

Cheers guys, the close ups of the ducklings were framed pretty much how they needed to be, only because they were quite difficult to shoot, if you know cheddar there is a river at the bottom, and they were down about 3m or so below me, I had to hang over the wall, bare in mind they were taken at 400mm with manual focus! But my favourite from the set is actually the "Bath Time" shot with the ducks far away, I just liked the lighting and reflections.

The water works sign has obviously got quite a lot of post processing, blue tint, high contrast B&W, but I quite like it.

The gull photo was actually back in Bristol while having a beer at the Avon Gorge Hotel, that over looks the suspension bridge, although might need to re-upload the pic as the compression has caused rings to appear, it should be much clearer

And as for the cheese, it never normally sticks around long enough to have photos taken of it!

But here you go, a gratuitous Cheese shot! (They store it in the caves to keep it cool) - I have a load of other photos in the caves, but haven't had a chance to go through those yet, might have a play in a bit..

They are really nice. Did you use a filter on the bath time shot at all? I like the colours, but have never managed to get that kind of colour composition myself?!

I used a polariser on the lens, I think sometimes it's just a bit of luck, the sun and the subject need to be at the right angle etc.

I tweaked it very very slightly in light room, a little more vibrance and a little more contrast just to bring out the blacks and colours a little, but it's pretty much as it was taken!

(BTW if you don't already have a polariser, then get one! trust me, use lose a little speed but the colour is much better, especially with water involved!)
