I have had a lot of people join the groups I am a member of based on me being a member.  Funny how FlickR works.  We need to have a much larger pool of photos.

I would also recommend having some rules set, ie, post one, comment on one.  Or post one, comment on two to the right.  Or mark out of 10? Also, limit users to only posting one at a time.    This sort of thing attracts people to come back.  Everyone likes comments on their photos.   This is how people build a community.   Everyone knows about World Through my Eyes and the 1-2-3 groups ... totally community driven.

Do we only have one moderator on the Flickr group?  Can someone else be assigned as a moderator too ie. Mongoose?

theres like 5 members and its only been running a day.. seems pointless to add a mod since its still so quiet..

as to the other points you could post them in the FlickR group to see if that will encourage some action.

"awww how are we supposed to attract new photographers stuck down in this forum  lol "

You took it upon yourself to setup a group which is really great, but the main page could have done with an explanation, giving an overview of Tekforums and a link.  Some basic rules should be up on there.  It not like it would take very long.  Given you are the one who set the group up, you are the only who has control about whats on the main page.  The group is not going to attract anyone outside the forums without this, I have many contacts on FlickR and many have added the more community driven groups I am a member of just through seeing mine.  No point having a group, where you click to have a look, no logo, no info, no rules and a handful of images? Give me some permissions and I will do it or I could help.

I am really not criticising was really nice that you have made an effort, just really want to assist in getting the Photography section more inviting and not saying all of this has to happen at once.  I am going to post a load of images to the group this evening so that should make it look a bit more busy.  People need an excuse to come back, the rules will do that.  You post an image and comment on others.  The reward is that others comment on yours.

Cool stuff!  If you need any help, give me a shout.  Will get some of my mates to post their stuff in the group too.
