Digital Photo Frame
on: June 11, 2007, 13:15:01 PM
Well, been wanting to buy a digital photo frame for some time now.  Saw this one which I liked the look of, but am concerned, as you apparantly can only leave it on for 8 hours, kinds defeats the point of having it?

Has anyone got one? which they could recommend.  I really want a slick looking bit of kit.  I heard the Philips one is good, but still over £100 for it.

A review of one would be good with some close up pictures of it.

Cheers

I am thinking about getting one of these for my Dad (fathers day). If I do buy one, I am going to take it to framing shop and get it remounted.

The biggest thing for me is the amount of "on time" that they support. I was looking at one, I forget the manufacturer, that only advised being switched on for "upto 4 hours" a day !

OK after some serious web surfing since this post I found this link with some reviews

http://www.gadgetcentre.com/news/article.asp?SP=348740212926332337320&v=2&UAN=931

Surprisingly the CiBox one which has got good reviews on ebuyer, has been knocked according to this review.  The ebuyer one comes up okay.  May be that the longevity of the frame may be an advisable recommendation.  I need to know if the ebuyer one can be left on 24/7 - I just cannot be fed to turn it on/off .. just want to leave it on the shelf.

I want one for me!!!! me I tell you!!! me!!! me, me, me!!!!!

The CiBox C107 got a relatively poor review compared to the ebuyer one!  Although according to ebuyer customer reviews, gets good reviews.  The ebuyer one if you sort by bad reviews has negative comments with regards to can only be left on for maximum 8 hours?!?

I am not buying one just yet, but plan to do so in a few weeks.  If you do buy one/mates buy one, would you mind giving us some feedback on the one you buy.

Cheers

Bar people saying how eastern the interface is and how its a bit naff I have read good reviews.
I tend to avoid ebuyer site comments on products becuase for almost all of the ebuyer versions they get good reviews and many question if they are not internally written
The one I linked plays divx files sounds good to me with the other features

Yeah, I must admit the CiBox C107 plays divx as well ... I think battery life is a few hours, has built in speaker ... you could use it when travelling ... ha ha!!!  Although as much as I want one more as a really nice picture frame, tis a good feature.  I think I would probably get the CiBox on myself ... it has no negative comments on lastability.  I really just want one you can leave on 24/7, more about being posey than anything else tbh.

On another note, have you noticed the one made by Parrot? (whoever the f they are?).  On T3 website, they have it reviewed in black crocodile effect, and as tacky as it may sound I think it has a certain pimpness to it!!!!
