Post by: Binary Shadow on July 16, 2012, 12:26:51 PM
Went to farnborough air show on sunday expecting to get some great pictures with the 100-400L and 7D... got there, pulled the camera out with lens on, flicked the power switch.. nothing.. id only gone and left the battery behind... epic.. fail :(

Only positive was I was with the GF who had her 400d so gave her the lens for the day

Don't feel too bad, I drove all the way to Alton Towers from Portsmouth and left the tickets on my desk, I had to drive all the way back again

Did you end up with some decent photos in the end from your g/fs camera?

They were free tickets from the Sun so it wasn't even essential to go back, I probably used as much in petrol as I would have queing for new tickets, but that would have meant the difference between getting in the park early or queuing for ages, so decided to try the drive back.

Doh bet you won't be doing that again in a hurry!

I've not managed to do it myself yet but there's been a few times when I've had to check just to make sure before I leave the house with my camera, haven't developed an OCD for it yet but I bet you will...

The bizarre thing is, he's completely paranoid when it comes to everything else. Just going to the shops requires triple checking he has his keys, phone and wallet, double checking the door is locked and then double checking both the car doors are locked when we get to the car park. It was an eventful evening driving to say the least.

I hope your pictures come out good though!
