Jessops pricematch?
on: December 21, 2006, 21:33:30 PM
Do Jessops price match online stores? I seem to recall someone saying they do.

If so what would I need to take to the local jessops to get them to match the price?

 Cheers

EDIT: I found where I recall it from:

PS: Just a reminder that high street shop Jessops will price match any UK retailer even if theyre online (you have to ask as they dont overly advertise this).  Often handy to be able to print off the price from amazon and then walk into a shop and get it from them.  Makes returns and stuff easier plus its in your hand as soon as you give them the money.

Anyone got anymore details?

Yes, they do.

I just took along a print out of the web page. the salesperson rang them to check the price and availability and then matched the price. So if you are going to ask for a price match do check to make sure it is available. I guess in terms of Amazon they will just accept it is in stock because the website says so. Good luck. :)

yup - a printout of the webpage will be fine.  Ive done it a few times and just took in a printout of the price on amazon/pixmania and as long as they can check it online themselves (url printed at top of page) theyre cool with it.

Basically they need to be able to check its a real company and they actually have stock of the item and then they match it.  If its a big company like amazon they just accept it no questions.  If its a smaller/unknown retailer they need to be able to contact them to verify it.  The amount you can save is simply huge over their highstreet prices.  Literally knocking £100+ off just by asking is insane!

It seemed like if it is a big company youre price matching from then you could just walk in and say its on ebuyer etc, theyd pop up the website then match the price.  The printouts dont hurt tho :)

Yup they do, but argos has a sale of more than half price off of all their camera stuff going on at the moment so check there first!

Ive used Jessops price match a couple of times. In my experience there are certain sites they wont match, notably Pixmania or 7dayshop.com. They seem to avoid any sites where the goods are potentially grey imports.

I went today and they said categorically that they dont do any price matching anymore :-(

I spoke to two separate sales assistants then the deputy manager who all told me they no longer match prices!

It was the only open Jessops I could find in Cardiff too so I couldnt verify it with any other store.

Looks like Im not getting my new camera for Xmas :( Anyone got any ideas?

EDIT: Just phoned the customer service line and they too confirm, they used to but now they dont.
