Saw these on your flickr, very nice they are too!  What lens were they taken with?

Thanks.

They were taken with a 105mm Sigma.  Its manual focus only on my D40, but tbh, its better working manually as I have a play with a 150mm which a friend has and as much as its terrific, its a pain getting the focus exactly where you want it.  Still practicising, but was really pleased with these as I was holding the dandelion in one hand, whilst focusing and taking the shots with the other.

I actually had a quick go with macro stuff yesterday, just mucking about with a 50mm f1.8 and where as macro stuff can be fun it seems that is also fairly annoying to get the focus spot on, and well you managed it there, especially with the last one.  Theyd look great printed out on canvas with a simple border around them.

really nice shots, as youve already found out AF is pretty overrated when it comes to macro.

If Im being pedantic the last one would be even better if the field of view moved up just a bit, to get the loose seed all in and lose some of the OOF portion of the head. I know how hard it is to frame macros just the way you want them though, so these are good.
