Mount Kenya Pictures.

These are pictures of me and my group that went on a month long expedition to Kenya in the year 2000.

Ive lost my photos and the other day whilst randomly googling for stuffs. I found this old website of one of the girls who were at my group.

Here are the images I found :)

The entire group of us, on the summit. Im the guy on the right with the blue and white bobble hat on (borrowed it from a sherpa as I lost my bloody hat during the night). Thankfully the weather cleared up as we climbed above the clouds (5,700m... or 16,500ft). I fondly remember drinking Tusker lager at the top of the mountain but because we were taking diamoxin (think thats the name for it) it made everything taste like eating corregated iron roofing.

View from the top. :) Sadly these pictures are all low quality resizes.... I am trying to get back in contact with her but none of her addresses are working so that I can get hold of some decent scans of her photos.

A picture of the 4 girls who were on our trip. The one who took the photos is wearing the red coat. I am the guy crouching in the khaki combats about to fall into a frozen lake whilst getting water to prepare some dehydrated food we had ( you cant see the ice really in the photo... but it was there, had to break it with my foot) and being pulled to safety by the guy walking across the field who was my tentmate.

The photo above was also taken the day before a blizzard hit our campsite as we tried ascending to the Swiss Hut ( about 1000m from the summit) we got hit by temperatures in the -20s and had to seek shelter at one point and test the EPIRB (emergency beacon) we were carrying to make sure it would work if we needed it as the weather got a bit gnarly.

Absolutely astonished I found photos of us after all this time! and equally astonished that they got me just prior to falling in the lake! :D lol.
